2004-2005 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
EVENTS The Organization is looking forward to an exciting year. Two upcoming events:
The Canadian Alleyne School Alumni Chapter is vibrant and alive. Our Chapter is registered with the Ministry of Consumer & Commercial Relations to provide financial assistance and support to the Alleyne School in Barbados. Our Achievements “Aliis non sibi” (for others not ourselves) is the Motto of our school. It was the concept of Sir John Gay Alleyne, and he used it to found the School. Many of us have performed our duties and conducted our lives on that belief, so we support our Alumni Associations and our Alma Mater when ever the occasion arises. We do what we can financially to support those students in Barbados who could benefit form the resources that we have here in Canada. Here are some of our accomplishments over the last five (5) years:
Although you have not been active for a few years, I strongly believe that you think of the Alleyne School and you are asking yourselves; “What have I done lately to help “others and not ourselves” where the Alleyne is concerned? More importantly is the concern for the viability and the quality of service and education that the students of the Alleyne are getting, and are also wondering how are these students faring in these harsh economic times. Well, there is a glorious opportunity for you to help find solutions for some of these concerns and challenges and come out in full force to club meetings and events. Meetings We meet on the fourth (4th) Saturday of each month at St. Stephens Anglican Church 2259 Jane St. just a few blocks north of Wilson Avenue on the East Side. Membership and Dues Membership is $20.00 per year for a single alumnus, or $30.00 per year for a couple. I know your have a lot of ideas and suggestions and meetings would be the perfect forum to express them. Once again, please let us live up to our school motto “Aliis non sibi”. God bless, and long live the Alleyne School. CANADIAN ALLEYNE SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION Last update by Simeon Benjamin - 20 March 2005 |
